Birmingham native McDonald Strong cultivated a love of the land early on in life. After working in real estate for several years, he attained his broker’s license in 2004 and later opened Strong Realty. Since then, his passion has led to brokering, buying, selling, developing, improving and managing 25,000 acres across Central Alabama.
Visualizing an untapped potential is one of McDonald’s greatest skills. Ron’s personal experience with purchasing and improving properties in Alabama, coupled with the knowledge of over 20 years of financing real estate, make him a valuable asset to the company. Ron is a lifelong outdoorsman who has hunted on multiple continents. He currently serves on the Alabama board of directors of Safari Club International, the Birmingham board of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and is a member of the Alabama Forest Owners Assocation, Dallas Safari Club, and Ducks Unlimited.

Thomas got his know-how in the land business via summers on the family farm and a semi-apprenticeship with a neighboring landowner. After attending Columbus State University on a baseball scholarship, Morrison began working for Blackjack Lands as a property manager in 2010. After a six-year tenure with Blackridge managing more than 150,000 acres of forestry roads and wildlife projects, he struck out on his own and established Morrison Land Contracting. He joins Strong Realty as an associate with a passion for land conservation and stewardship while also bringing a unique skill set to the company.

Chad Wheeler

Chad Wheeler, located in Sulligent AL, has a vast knowledge of all forms of land management. Chad is a 1999 graduate of Mississippi State with a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry and is currently a registered Mississippi forester. He established Timberlake Forestry Inc. in 2014 and has helped many families with their timber and land management needs. Chad has joined Strong Lands and will assist landowners in getting the most value out of their property. Kelly is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College with a degree in Economics. She previously spent 18 years at AmSouth and Regions Bank as Vice-President of Wealth Management. She managed a portfolio of Trust Real Estate in Central Alabama and Georgia comprised of over 80 residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. After retiring from Regions, Kelly began working with Strong Lands and focusing more of her time on Magic Moments, the United Way of Central Alabama, and various other non-profits. In her free time, she is an avid golfer, runner, and spends time at her land with her husband, Ron and their duck hunting dog, Otto.
